Admission to M.Tech Programme Starting in July, 2021(Autumn 2021) Sponsored (Full-time and Part-time) M.Tech Programme Autumn Semester, 2021

Applications are invited for admission to the M.Tech Programme starting in July 2021 (Autumn Semester 2021) under Sponsored (Full-time and Part-time) categories. The disciplines in which the Programme to be offered are:

M.Tech Programme: The Institute shall admit students under the following categories:

M.Tech Sponsored (Full-time):

• i. Eligible candidate working nearby the feasible location can apply for the programme is sponsored by an industry of repute/ R&D organization/ higher academic institution/government organization. They must have two years professional experience of relevant discipline from the current organization (as Scientist/officer/Engineer/technical staff etc.) in the discipline in which admission is sought for the M. Tech programme at the institute on a full-time basis.
• ii. The candidates under this category shall have to avail a minimum 1-year leave from the duration of the course work of M.Tech programme from the parent organization for attending the classes as a regular student of the institute.

M.Tech Sponsored (Part-time):

• i. Candidate joined under this programme is a professional including staff of NIT Meghalaya/ employee from R&D organization /higher education institution within Meghalaya. He/She must have continuous two years of regular experience from the current organization as Scientist/officer/Engineer/ technical staff etc. in the discipline of which admission is sought for the M. Tech programme at the institute on a part-time basis.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission into M.Tech Sponsored Programme:

The eligibility Criteria of both categories are as follows;

• i. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with the minimum CGPA/percentage obtained in the Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology to be set at 6 CGPA or 55%. or a Master’s degree with at least 60% marks (6.5 CGPA) in the appropriate discipline of science or equivalent. Relaxation of 5% marks / 0.5 CGPA is applicable for SC/ST/PWD candidates. GATE qualification shall not be essential for taking admission into the programme.
• ii. The candidate should produce a sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format certified by the employer to get admitted into M.Tech Sponsored (Full-time) category.
• iii. Candidate’s age should not be more than 45 years.

Relaxation for SC/ST/PWD Candidates:

Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA for SC/ST/PWD category applicants as per GOI Norms.

Application Fees:

Application fees of Rs. 500/- for General/OBC and Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates to be paid via online. No application fee to be paid by PWD candidates. Application fees is not refundable under any circumstances.

Selection Procedure:

Eligible candidates may be required to appear for an online written test and/or interview in respect of his/ her discipline to be conducted by the concerned Department. Shortlisted candidates based on performance in the written test will be called for interview. Both written test and interview may be completed on the same day. It may be extended for one more day depending upon the number of candidates appearing for interview.

Candidates shall be governed as per PG Regulations of NIT Meghalaya (refer below link).

Note: Before submitting the application, candidates are advised to visit concerned Department web pages about research work domain and facilities available in the institute.

How to Apply:

• STEP-I: Candidates are advised to make the application fee payment as per category (Rs. 500/ for Gen/OBC, Rs. 250/- for SC/ST and no fee for PWD). Application fees is not refundable under any cirumstances.
• STEP-II : Fill the application form correctly and completely .
• STEP-III: Hard copy of the application form along with payment proof with all the testimonials (self attested) to be sent by post to the mentioned address.

STEP:-1: Instructions for Payment Process using State Bank Collect (SBI Collect):

1. Click on “Make Payment using SBI Collect” below.

2. A DISCLAIMER CLAUSE page will open. Check the box for I have read and accepted the terms and conditions stated above and click on the PROCEED button.
3. From the drop down menu, State of Corporate/Institution, select Meghalaya.
4. From the drop down menu, Type of Corporate/Institution, select Educational Institutions. Click on the GO button.
5. From the drop down menu, Educational Institutions Name, select NIT MEGHALAYA FEE COLLECTION. Click on the SUBMIT button.
6. A page for details of payment will open. Under Select Payment Category, select APPLICATION FEES.
7. Please read the complete page carefully.
8. A page to verify details and confirm this transaction will appear. Click on the CONFIRM button if your details are correct.
9. You will be directed to payment page
10. Complete the payment process by selecting the mode of payment that you wish.
11. Save Reference number and date of payment for filling the online Application.

STEP II: Submission of Application Form:

1. Click to download the application form , [Application Form]
2.  Fill the form completely and correctly.
3.  If a candidate is applying for more than one department, the candidate must pay application fee separately and the application form also must be sent separately.
4.  Send by post along with all self attested photocopies of all your documents.
5.  Soft copy of the form along with all scanned documents should be mail to mtech.admission@nitm.ac.in , subject of the mail should be “MTech application  form of (Your Name) (Dept  applied) for (Full Time/Part Time )”.

Step: III: Hard Copy of Submission of Application:

The following documents (whichever is applicable) should be enclosed along with the the application form:

1.  A recent photograph of the candidate is to be fixed on space provided in the application.
2.  Self attested copy of Payment proof.
3. Self attested copy of Educational qualifications Mark sheets and certificates as per filled online application form.
4. Self attested copy of SC/ST/OBC candidates from a competent authority (not below the rank of a Tahsildar/ Circle Officers).
5. Appointment letter issued by the current employer and Experience Certificate of last two years.
6. Sponsorship Certificate/No Objection Certificate from their employers in the prescribed format.
   • Sponsorship cum No-Objection Certificate for M.Tech Sponsored (Full-time)
   • No objection certificate for M.Tech (Part-Time)
7.  Self attested copy (1st page) of all research publications in Journals and Conferences (if any). The completed application along with required enclosures in a A4 size envelope by mentioning "Application for M.Tech Programme under Sponsored (Fulltime/Part time) category in ----------------- Department” should reach to the following address before the last date of Receipt of Application.
