Servo Hydraulic Fatigue Fracture Testing Machine (FFTM)

Make: MTS Systems USA (Model: Landmark 370.10)

Dr. Kishore Debnath

(Assistant Professor and HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering) Profile

Fatigue fracture testing machine is a servo hydraulic machine capable of performing fatigue and fracture toughness testing along with rudimentary tensile and compression tests. All types of metallic samples can be tested in all procedures. Fatigue testing of composite samples can be done.

Major applications:
  1. Tensile and compression testing of metallic and composite samples
  2. Low and high cycle fatigue of samples
  3. Fracture toughness testing for metallic samples (J-integral and KIC)

Multichannel Electrochemical Workstation

Make: Origalys (Model: Origalys France make OGF05A; OGF01A; OGFEIS Electrochemical workstation )

Dr. Shubhankar Majumdar

(Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering) Profile

Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy

Make: Thermofischer Scientific [Model: iCE 3300 AA Spectrometer (wide PMT)]

Dr. Susmita Sharma

(Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering) Profile

Atomic absorption spectrophotometer analyses the concentration of elements in a liquid/solution sample based on energy absorbed on wavelengths of light. It includes a flame burner to atomize the sample, a monochromator, and a photon detector. In graphite furnace AAS, the liquid sample is introduced into the cuvette directly, where it is transformed into a fine mist for analysis.
This instrument can detect the following Elements: Ca, Cr, Cu, Mn, Zn, Pb and Co (Ag, Au and Cd additional).

Major applications:

AAS is used in environmental testing, metal analysis, food-beverage, water, clinical research, and pharmaceutical analysis. It is also used in mining operations to determinethe percentage of precious metal in ores
