ANNUAL SPORTS, CULTURAL AND TECHNICAL
FESTIVALS

The student activities of NIT Meghalaya are not just confined to
classrooms, laboratories and internship destinations. For the all-round
development of its students the calendar of the Institute has been
designed to provide for Sports Activities, Cultural and Technical
Festivals every year.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The cultural activity showcases the rich cultural heritage of India
through the performing arts of Drama, Singing and Dancing. There are
also Art and Photography Exhibition, Quiz Events and Fashion Events
to portray various aspects of Indian Culture.

COGNITIA

The Annual Technical Festival of NIT Meghalaya is named as COGNITIA.

It is organised by a group of young technology graduates under the
supervision of the well-qualified faculty members of the Institute. It boasts

of translating the knowledge imparted in classrooms into action. The
festival is a celebration of engineering and science where the students
explore their creative limits. Here they design, compete, make mistakes and

most importantly, learn from their mistakes to re-think, re-invent and re-
engineer various complex solutions for the future.

SHISHIR

‘SHISHIR’ is the Annual
Cultural Fest of the National
Institute of Technology
Meghalaya. It patronizes the

sense of art and culture among the
students of the Institute. The

spirit of this festival is to
sensitize, appreciate and uphold
the rich cultural diversity of the
country. The festival is a
kaleidoscope of a large number of

cross cultural events performed
by the students along with

eminent guests invited from time
to time.
