Biography

Prof. Hassan Haes Alhelou (Senior Member, IEEE) is currently a faculty member/professor of Power Systems at Tishreen University, Syria. He is also with Monash University, Australia. He was with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College Dublin, Ireland. He also was with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman. He has participated in more than 15 international industrial projects. He has published more than 160 research articles in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He is included in the 2018/2019 Publons list of the top 1% best reviewer and researchers in the field of engineering in the world. He has also performed more than 800 reviews for high prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, and IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid. He was a recipient of the Outstanding Reviewer Award from many journals, such as Energy Conversion and Management (ECM), ISA Transactions, and Applied Energy. He was also a recipient of the Best Young Researcher in the Arab Student Forum Creative among 61 researchers from 16 countries at Alexandria University, Egypt, in 2011. His research interests include dynamic state estimation and its application to power system, power system dynamics and control, power system cybersecurity, smart grids, microgrids, demand response, and load shedding.
