Biography

Dr. Monalisa Biswal received the M. Tech and Ph. D. degrees from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology Burla and Sambalpur University, Odisha, India, in 2008 and 2013. She has more than 6 years of industrial experience. Since 2013, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering in National Institute of Technology Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.

Dr. Biswal is a recipient of POSOCO Power System Award-2014, DST- SERB Young Scientist Award-2015, Chhattisgarh Young Scientist Award- 2017. She is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), U.S.A. She has published over 100 journal articles, presented papers at conferences, and published several chapters in books. She has one published book: Microgrid: Operation, Control, Monitoring and Protection, Springer Singapore, 2020. She is the PI of 3 projects funded by SERB, New Delhi, India, and Horizon 2020 under EriGrid. She has guided 4 PhD students and 13 as a sole supervisor. She has conducted many national level courses, supplied many invited talk and chaired in conferences. Her name also featured in the 2% scientist list released by the renowned Stanford University. Her area of research includes Microgrid protection, Smart grid, and Protection of Power Network.
