Biography

Dr.Sayonsom Chanda is a Senior Scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado. He is also the founder of Plexflo, a startup that helps utilities undertake advanced analytics for a fraction of the typical cost. Prior to joining NREL and Plexflo, Dr. Chanda was a Senior Data Scientist at National Grid and an electrical engineer at Idaho National Laboratory. Over a dozen prominent conferences in the United States and abroad have invited him to speak on AI applications in the Energy industry, including a TEDX talk in 2021. He possesses an MSEE and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University, has published more than 15 articles in journals with a high impact factor and holds three patents in cloud computing for power systems. He is also the author of "Resiliency of Electricity Distribution Systems," which will be published in May 2023 by Wiley in the United Kingdom.
