Applications are invited for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programme starting in July 2018. The disciplines and areas in which the Programme is proposed to be offered (but not limited to) are:

Categories of Ph. D. Students:
The Institute shall admit Ph. D students under the following categories:
-
a) Full Time: Scholars under this category shall work full time for the Ph.D. courses/research. They may receive fellowship offered by the Institute as per MHRD norms / TEQIP guidelines.

b) Sponsored: Recognized R&D organizations, national institutions, other universities, government organizations or industries may sponsor research scholars. They shall be admitted through the normal process, and they shall not be entitled to any fellowship/assistantship from the Institute. They shall work full time for the Ph.D. courses/research.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission into Ph. D. Programme:
Master’s degree in appropriate branch of Engineering/ Science/ Technology or Master’s degree in the allied subjects with consistently good academic record and a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Master’s degree. (Candidates with B.E./ B. Tech. with an aggregate of 75% marks or equivalent GPA with valid GATE score will also be eligible).
Relaxation for SC/ST/PD Candidates:
Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA for SC/ST/PWD category applicants.
Selection Procedure:
Eligible candidates may be required to appear for a written test on topics in his/ her discipline. Shortlisted candidates based on performance in the written test will be called for interview for the final selection.

Instructions for the Candidates
Desirous candidates have to fill online application by 14th May, 2018 and also need to send printout of the filled up online application form and all the testimonials (self attested) and payment proof latest by 21st May, 2018.

Application Fees:
Application fees of Rs. 500/- (for general/OBC), Rs. 250 for SC/ST to be paid online via one of the links below.
Candidates are advised to make the payment first and then fill the online application form.Candidates are required to fill reference no assigned to them after payment of application fees (example BKIDN17007356407) and payment date in the application form.
