III. Eligibility Criteria for Admission into M.Sc. Program through Institute Mode

M.Sc. in Chemistry: Must have Chemistry as Honours/Major in B.Sc. with 60% or 6.5 CGPA (out of 10) for Gen/EWS/OBC, and 55% or 6.0 CGPA (out of 10) for SC, ST & PwD candidates Mathematics is compulsory in 10+2 level.

M.Sc. in Mathematics: Must have Mathematics or Statistics as Honours/Major in B.Sc. with 60% or 6.5 CGPA (out of 10) for Gen/EWS/OBC, and 55% or 6.0 CGPA (out of 10) for SC, ST & PwD candidates. Mathematics is compulsory in 10+2 level and also in all semesters of UG.

M.Sc. in Physics: B.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics (Honours/Pass) or in Electronics (Honours/Major) with Physics minor with Mathematics as one of the subsidiaries in B.Sc. Must have 60% or 6.5 CGPA (out of 10) for Gen/EWS/OBC, and 55% or 6.0 CGPA (out of 10) for SC, ST & PwD candidates Mathematics is compulsory in 10+2 level.

  1. In case, the result of the qualifying degree is awaited, provisional admission will be permitted to a candidate subject to meeting the above minimum academic requirements latest by September 15, 2023.
  2. The Institute reserves the right to cancel admission due to non-fulfillment of eligibility criteria by September 15, 2023.
  3. Result awaited candidates are encouraged to apply only if they secured at least 55% or 6 CGPA (out of 10) for Gen/EWS/OBC, and 50% or 5.5 CGPA (out of 10) for SC/ST & PwD categories till 5th semester/2nd year of their B.Sc. program.

IV. Selection Process

Through Institute Mode: (See application process below) The vacant over seats after CCMN 2023 admission to be filled up through Institute mode.

Merit list will be based on the weighted marks of 70% on B.Sc. Honours/Major (for result awaited candidate, marks will be considered up to 5th semester/2nd Year) and 30% on core Science subjects of class 12 exam.

    • All the uploading documents should be in pdf format. Be ready with required documents in pdf format before you start filling the application.
    • Rename the file as “candidate’s first name_document name” after converting into the pdf document. Example: If the candidate’s name is John Sunder then the pdf file name of the payment reference should be “John_payment reference”.
    • The following documents need to be uploaded in pdf format. [file name in square bracket]

      2. Category certificate except GEN category [candidate’s first name_category certificate]
      3. B.Sc. Mark sheets of all semesters/years and B.Sc. certificates in a single pdf file (up to 2nd year/5th semester for result awaiting candidates) [candidate’s first name_BSc marks and certificate]
      4. Class 12th mark sheet & certificate in a single pdf file [candidate’s first name_12th marks and certificate]
    • B.Sc. certificate is not required to upload for result awaiting candidates.
    • At the time of admission, original mark sheets and certificates are required to submit for verification.

Application fees of Rs.1000/- for General/OBC and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PwD to be paid online via the following link. Candidates are advised to make the payment first and then fill the application form. In the application form candidates are required to fill payment reference no (example BKIDN17007356407) and date of payment.

  • A DISCLAIMER CLAUSE page will open. Check the box for I have read and accepted the terms and conditions stated above and click on the PROCEED button.
  • From the drop down menu, State of Corporate/Institution, select Meghalaya.
  • From the drop down menu, Type of Corporate/Institution, select Educational Institutions. Click on the GO button.
  • From the drop down menu, Educational Institutions Name, select NIT MEGHALAYA FEE COLLECTION. Click on the SUBMIT button.
  • A page for details of payment will open. Under Select Payment Category, select APPLICATION FEES.
  • Please read the complete page carefully. A page to verify details and confirm this transaction will appear. Click on the CONFIRM button if your details are correct
  • You will be directed to payment page.
  • Complete the payment process by selecting the mode of payment that you wish.
  • After once complete the online payment, Generate the payment receipt in pdf format and keep it for your future reference and to upload in the online application process.
