Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic Indian nationals for ‘Junior Research Fellow’ (JRF) / Project Associate-I position for the project titled "Development and Testing of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Assisted Hybrid Double-Slope Desalination Solar Still for Off-grid Rural-North East India" under SERB, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (File No.: CRG/2021/007864) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Meghalaya.

Duration of the project available: 2 Years (Up to 2024)
Eligibility: M.Tech/ME (or, B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Fluid/ Thermal Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent in Master’s degree (or, 75% marks or an equivalent in Bachelor’s degree). Relaxation for SC/ST & PH will be considered as per Government of India norms.
Desirable Qualification & Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with working experience relevant to the project. Candidate should have in depth knowledge of heat/mass transfer and fluid mechanics.
Age limit: Must not be over 28 years as on February 28th, 2023. (Relaxation as per the norms / orders of Government of India)
Duration of appointment: Initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable up to 2 years solely based on the performance.
Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- per month for the 02 years for JRF (GATE score) and Rs. 25,000/- per month for the 02 years for Project Associate-I (without GATE score).
