The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya), has been organizing a series of annual conferences from 2016. These Conferences on Interdisciplinarity, also known as COIN, are focussed on the themes and concepts of Humanities and Social Sciences. The 6th Conference on Interdisciplinarity (COIN-2022) is planned as a two-day national conference to be scheduled on 19th and 20th November 2022 on the campus of the Institute at Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. The theme of this year’s Conference on Interdisciplinarity (COIN-2022) is ‘Genocides and Oppression: Interpretations, Intersections, and Interstices’. The focus of the conference is to look into oppression and genocides from all angles and perspectives including but not limited to all kinds of histories, stories, narratives, films, literature, theories, concepts, and interpretations. This conference will aim to provide an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, researchers, and students from Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, concerns, and practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in various oppressive structures.
The organizers welcome students, researchers, and academicians to submit abstracts by 15th October 2022 which explore the different dimensions dealing with various aspects of oppression and genocides by giving it an interdisciplinary approach. Abstracts should be sent to gender.hss@nitm.ac.in. Kindly see the flyer attached for more detail.
