Based on the online applications received, the shortlisted candidates are called for appearing the written test and/or interview on the following date and time.
Written Test (Both Full Time and Part Time)
16th – 17th June 2025 (11:00 am tentatively)
Reporting at the Institute – 10:00 am
Venue: National Institute of Technology Meghalaya, Permanent Campus, Saitsohpen, Sohra – 793108, Meghalaya.
Admission confirmation of final selected candidates by paying Institutional fees
Instructions and other guidelines including the time and room allotted for the written test and interview will be communicated by Electronics and Communication Engineering and Nodal Officer (Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, NIT Meghalaya), the same will also be displayed in the notice board placed in front of the administrative block of the Institute. The candidates may also be contacted by email from the concern departments or Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, NIT Meghalaya; hence, candidates are required to check their email frequently for updates.
For full time category, only the candidates who have qualified in the written test will be called for the interview. All candidates will have to undergo a document verification process which will be conducted by the concern department. The room allotment for the Document Verification process will be informed by the department concerned. Only after successful verification of documents, the candidates will be allowed to proceed to the written test/interview.
The candidates must bring the PhD application form, application fee payment proof (if applicable), all the original and one set of photocopies of their certificates (caste/EWS/PWD etc), marksheets, NOCs & experience certificates (for part time candidates), ID proof and other relevant documents for producing during the document verification process.
Candidates must be present as per the allotted date and time. Request for rescheduling the written test or interview date or time will not be entertained.
Candidates should fill the summary sheet and submit during the document verification process.
(i) Local transport is available from Shillong to Sohra, NIT Meghalaya campus.

The semester will be starting as per academic calendar and accordingly scholarship of eligible candidate will be processed.
Admission confirmation must be done by the finally selected candidates by 18th June by paying Institutional fees. Refer to the fees structure:
If admission is not confirmed by the candidate within the said period, then waitlisted candidates shall be called for admission as applicable.
TA/DA will not be paid to the candidates appearing for the written test and Interview.
