National Institute of Technology Meghalaya invites applications in Prescribed Format from Indian Nationals and OCIs of all categories possessing consistently good academic record and requisite qualifications and experience for faculty positions in various Departments of the Institute. Reservation policy of Government of India will be followed. Interested candidates must fill-in on-line application form available on the Institute website (www.nitm.ac.in) by 11:45 p.m of 5th July  20th July  4th August 2023 and send the signed hard copy application with payment receipt and other relevant documents (self-attested) to reach the “Registrar, NIT Meghalaya, Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong-793003” on or before 5:00 pm of 19th July 31st July  11th August 2023. Online application form and other details will be available on the Institute website (www.nitm.ac.in) from 12 noon of 1stJune 2023.

Hard copies of the applications received after the due time and date will be summarily rejected
 

This advertisement for faculty positions is in supersession of the Advertisement No. NITMGH/REC/F/2020-21/332 dated 13.07.2021 released by NIT Meghalaya. The candidates who have already applied for faculty positions against the advertisement dated 13.07.2021 need to submit fresh applications and also submit the hard copies as instructed in the present advertisement. However, they need not pay the application fees, if paid earlier.

NOTE I: This being an advertisement governed by the flexible faculty recruitment rules, relevant instructions from the Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India (GOI) issued till the date of interviews will be applicable as a part this advertisement.
NOTE 2: Since all the posts are to be filled-in by open advertisement, internal candidates who are aspiring for higher Pay Level need to apply.
NOTE 3: This being an advertisement governed by the flexible recruitment rules as per NITs Statutes, the number of positions for internal candidates is not restricted by the number of positions advertised at various levels. However, the total    number of faculty positions will not exceed the sanctioned position for the institute.
Movement of faculty to higher Pay Level shall be carried out as per the prescribed selection process, even if there is no vacancy in a Department. This will be restricted to only the serving faculty members of NIT Meghalaya in the respective Departments [As per point no. 5 in Note 1 of Schedule “E” of First Statutes of the National Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Statutes, 2017 (Ref. Gazette of India No. 651 dated 24.07.2017)].
NOTE 4: The number of positions may vary depending upon vacancies available and sanctions received from MoE, GOI
NOTE 5: Depending upon the number of applications received and the number of vacancies for faculty positions in a department, the Institute reserves the right to fix higher eligibility criteria for the shortlisting of the candidates for the selection process.
NOTE 6: The selection process for the new faculty positions shall be conducted in two stages:
Stage I- Candidates shortlisted after the scrutiny of applications shall be asked to make an Academic/Research presentation before an expert committee.
Stage II- The candidates shortlisted from Stage I shall be called for a personal interview. However, eligible internal candidates shall have to attend only Stage II of the selection process.
NOTE 7: The Institute reserves the right to modify / defer or cancel full / part of the Advertisement / Recruitment at any stage of processing without assigning any reasons thereof.
NOTE 8: Candidates applying against post reserved for OBC category must submit a valid (up-to-date) “Non Creamy Layer” caste certificate from the appropriate authority issued not more than six months before the closing date of the advertisement i.e 05.07.2023and shall have to produce the same at the time of joining

General Instructions and Information

  1. Only Indian nationals and OCIs need to apply.
  2. General/OBC Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹ 1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only), SC/ST, PWD, Women candidates are completely exempted from paying the application fee. Candidates are advised to read details given in the “Check Payment Process” link carefully before making the payment.
  3. Reservations will be as per Government of India norms.
  4. Relaxation of age for candidates under the Reserved Categories shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
  5. The applicants should furnish details of all the qualifications and relevant experience and attach self-attested photocopies of marks sheets/certificates along with the hardcopy of the application form.
  6. Candidates who applied online only and do not submit the hard copy of the application form, along will all documents, payment details and testimonials, etc. will be rejected.
  7. The date for determining eligibility of candidates in every respect i.e., qualification, experience and preferred age limit etc. shall be considered as on the closing date, i.e., the last date of the submission of online application form, 05.07.2023.
  8. Persons in employment should submit their applications through the proper channel with a forwarding note of the employer. However, a hardcopy of the application form along with the Payment Receipt may be sent as an “Advance Copy” to ensure receipt of application before the last date.
  9. Incomplete application, application received without Payment Receipt, application not in the prescribed form and application without self-attested photocopies of certificates/mark sheets, proof of date of birth, caste certificate, etc. will be rejected.
  10. Candidates are instructed to fill in the correct “SBI Collect Reference Number”, which will be auto-generated after the fee payment is correctly made, in the online application form. The number should match with that in the Payment Receipt to be submitted along with the hard copy of the application form. Applications with randomly entered “SBI Collect Reference Number” will be rejected.
  11. The printout of filled-in application form should be sent by speed/registered post/courier to the “Registrar, National Institute of Technology Meghalaya, Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong-793003”, in an envelope superscribing “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ………………., Department of ………….…….”
  12. Mere fulfillment of minimum qualification and experience do not entitle a candidate to be called for the interview.
  13. Candidates must have the requisite educational qualifications, experience, and age on the last date of online application as declared in the advertisement / Institute Website.
  14. The Institute may consider candidates whose area of specialization lies outside those stated herein, provided these persons have an outstanding record.
  15. Applicants are advised to provide phone numbers and e-mail address in their own interest to facilitate prompt communication. If short-listed, all communications regarding interview, etc. will be made preferably through e- mail.
  16. The applicants are advised/required to visit the Institute website www.nitm.ac.in regularly. The list of candidates shortlisted for further participation in the selection process such as presentation/interview etc. will be displayed on the Institute website only.
  17. Applicants may attach additional sheet(s), wherever necessary, mentioning the serial number along with the hardcopy of application (printout of the submitted application).
  18. Applicants willing to apply for more than one post / department must fill up separate application forms and deposit separate fees for each of the posts being applied.
  19. No TA/DA will be paid for attending test / interview.
  20. Any information furnished and certificates provided if found false, tampered, mutilated or suppressed and noticed at a later date shall be considered as disqualification for the post.
  21.  No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delay, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for the interview.
  22. In case the last date falls on a holiday/series of holidays, the last date for receipt of the hard copies of the applications will be the next  working day (till 5.00 PM only).
  23. Any corrigendum/addendum or modification, if any, would appear only on the Institute website (www.nitm.ac.in) and will not be published in any Newspaper.
  24. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
  25. Legal disputes, if any, with National Institute of Technology Meghalaya will be restricted within the jurisdiction of Shillong, Meghalaya only.

Step 2 –      Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link given in the Advertisement for Faculty Positions at NIT Meghalaya.

Step 3 –      Users can register (click on “Register”) and proceed with the registration process by providing their basic personal and application fee payment details after which, they will be redirected to their complete application form page to complete the process.

Step 4 –      Candidates can re-login again to their application profile to complete the form in case they are not able to complete filling up the form or want to make necessary changes.

Step 5 –       Please read and follow the instructions mentioned in the form carefully, as you go on filling the form.

Step 6 –      Users can do the final submission of their applications after which, they will not be allowed to make further changes to their applications except to view their status and take printout of the same.
