ABOUT NCC

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development program in India comprising of Army, Navy and Air Force under military. It aims to cultivate leadership qualities, courage, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and a sense of patriotism among the youth of the country. The NCC program is open to all regular students of the educational institutions on a voluntary basis but with no liability for active military service. It provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development through a wide range of activities and training programs to become able leaders and useful citizens. The NCC plays a significant role in shaping the youth by creating awareness among the student community regarding its importance towards nation building.

MISSION

To develop disciplined, patriotic, and leadership qualities youth through a various activities under Indian military programs

BENEFITS OF JOINING NCC

OATH

“I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Corps. Further, under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly.”

PLEDGE

“We, the cadets of the national cadet corps, do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India. We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation. We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.”

Initially, the total capacity of 53 cdts has been sanctioned at NIT Meghalaya for both boys and girls from 7th June, 2024. Out of 53 cdts, 18 cdts are allotted for the first year student 2024 batch. List of the first batch 18 students (cdts) are give in the Table-I.
