NOTIFICATION

The lists of candidates provisionally screened in for the non-teaching posts advertised by the Institute vide Advt. No. NITMGH/ES/REC/N-F/Vol.V/2021/850 dated 07.10.2021 are available post-wise in the links below. The lists are provisional and candidates will have to produce all original certificates, mark-sheets, documents, testimonials, medical certificate, etc. for verification before being allowed to appear for the Personal Interview/ Skill Test. In the event of any discrepancy/ deficiency/ false/ forgery in the certificates noticed, the candidate(s) shall be rejected and the application shall be forfeited.

The recruitment process for the post of Superintendent (SUP) will be in three stages and that for the posts of Assistant Registrar (AR), Students Activity and Sports Officer (SASO) and Junior Assistant (JA) will be in two stages.

The online Preliminary Test shall be for the post of SUP only and the candidates can appear in the test anywhere from their respective locations. The Mains Examination for the posts of AR, SASO, SUP, and JA will be conducted online through the Google Classroom Platform and candidates shall have to appear for the Mains Examination physically at NIT Meghalaya campus only on the tentative dates given in the Table below.

The candidates must have a valid Gmail ID to be able to sit for the test/ examination. All screened in candidates must furnish their fresh details required for online test/ examination in the Google Forms which will be given along with this Notification. Candidates without Gmail ID must create one and update in the Google Form by the date and time given below:

1. Post of Superintendent           :           5:00 PM of 17.02.2022
2. Posts of AR and SASO            :           5:00 PM of 24.02.2022
3. Post of JA                                 :           5:00 PM of 03.03.2022

• CANDIDATES ARE INSTRUCTED TO MANDATORILY SUBMIT THEIR GMAIL ID BY THE ABOVE GIVEN DATE AND TIME TO BE INVITED TO ENTER INTO THE GOOGLE CLASSROOMS FOR THE TEST/ EXAMINATION.
• THE GOOGLE FORMS WILL BE CLOSED AT EXACTLY 5:00 PM OF THE GIVEN DATES.
• REQUESTS BY EMAIL, TELEPHONE OR OTHERWISE RECEIVED AFTER THE GOOGLE FORMS HAVE BEEN CLOSED WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.
• The Institute will not be responsible if screened in candidates do not fill the Google Form and provide the information in the exact format asked in the Google Form before the given date.
• It is requested to fill the Google Form very carefully to avoid any mistake.
• Detailed guidelines and instructions regarding Google Classroom will be shared on a later date.
• No separate call letter for the Preliminary Test will be issued to the candidates.
• Candidates will receive an email invitation in the Gmail ID provided and registered with NIT Meghalaya to join the Google Classroom for the test/ examination.

Stage-I: Preliminary Test for the post of Superintendent ONLY (date 23.02.2022)

The Preliminary Test for the post of SUP only will be conducted online through the Google Classroom Platform on 23.02.2022.

The Preliminary Test will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions. The candidates will have to answer 60 (sixty) questions in 60 (sixty) minutes. Correct answers will be awarded 3 (three) marks. There will be 1 (one) negative mark for every wrong answer. Unanswered questions will not be given any marks, i.e. Zero mark.

The syllabus for the Preliminary Test for the post of SUP will be broadly questions from the following topics, but not necessarily restricted to them only:

1. General English
2. Numerical ability
3. Basic Computer / Information Technology knowledge
4. Current Affairs
5. General Knowledge
6. Reasoning
7. Simple/ Basic Govt rules.

• The Preliminary Test is purely for qualification purpose to get qualified in Stage-I and to be eligible to sit for Stage-II Main Examination.
• The marks obtained in the Preliminary Test will not be carried over/ considered in the later stages of the recruitment.
• The number of candidates to be shortlisted for the Main Examination will be approximately 100 candidates (+/-), depending on the marks obtained by the candidates.
• The result of the Stage-I Preliminary Test will be declared on the Institute website as per the tentative schedule given in the Table below.

Stage-II (a): Main Examination for the posts of AR and SASO (tentative date 03.03.2022)

The candidates screened-in for the posts of AR and SASO will have to appear for the Main Examination which will tentatively be held on 03.03.3022, depending upon COVID-19 pandemic situation and permission of the East Khasi Hills District Authority.

Stage-II (b): Main Examination for the posts of SUP and JA (tentative date 07.03.2022)

The candidates who qualify after Stage-I of the recruitment to the post of SUP and candidates screened-in for the post of JA will have to appear for the Main Examination which will tentatively be held on 07.03.3022, depending upon COVID-19 pandemic situation and permission of the East Khasi Hills District Authority.

Candidates for all the above said posts will have to appear for the Main Examination in person in the campus of NIT Meghalaya located at Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong 793003, Meghalaya.

The Main Examination will be conducted online through the Google Classroom Platform in the various laboratories of the Institute.

The Main Examination will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions. The candidates will have to answer 60 (sixty) questions in 60 (sixty) minutes. Correct answers will be awarded 3 (three) marks. There will be 1 (one) negative mark for every wrong answer. Unanswered questions will not be given any marks, i.e. Zero mark.  

The syllabus for the Main Examination will be broadly questions from the following topics, but not necessarily restricted to them only:

Stage-III (a): Personal Interview for the posts of AR and SASO (dates will be declared later)

Stage-III (b): Skill Test for the posts of SUP and JA (tentative date 08.03.2022)

The candidates for the post of AR who qualify after the Main Examination will have to appear before the Selection Committee for personal interview at NIT Meghalaya campus. The date of the Personal Interview will be declared later. The candidates will be allowed to appear before the Selection Committee only after verification of all their original documents, testimonials, certificates, etc.

The candidates for the post of SASO who qualify after the Main Examination will have to appear before the Selection Committee for personal interview at NIT Meghalaya campus. The date of the Personal Interview will be declared later. The candidates will be allowed to appear before the Selection Committee only after verification of all their original documents, testimonials, certificates, etc. The candidates are instructed to mandatorily bring the original certificate of qualification in the national-level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC and passed the physical fitness test conducted in accordance with these regulations. Failure to produce this certificate shall lead to disqualification of the candidate from appearing before the Selection Committee.

The candidates for the posts of SUP and JA who qualify after the Main Examination will have to undergo Skill Test tentatively on 08.03.2022 at NIT Meghalaya campus. The candidates will be allowed to appear for the Skill Test only after verification of all their original documents, testimonials, certificates, etc.

• ADMIT CARD: Admit Cards will be issued to the candidates appearing for the Mains Examination. The screened-in candidates for the posts of AR, SASO and JA and the candidates for the posts of SUP who have qualified after the Stage-I Preliminary Test will be given a link from where they can download the Admit Card. The Admit card can be downloaded by inputting the candidate’s Roll Number and Date of Birth. They will have to print and paste/ staple a latest passport sized photograph for identification. The candidate shall have to sign in the Admit Card before the invigilator. The Admit Card shall then be collected by the invigilator and kept by the Institute as proof of attendance of the candidate at the examination. Candidates without an Admit Card or with a photograph not pasted/ stapled on the Admit Card will not be allowed to appear for the Main Examination.
• The Main Examination is for qualification purpose for the posts of AR and SASO to get qualified in the Main Examination and to be eligible to appear before the Selection Committee for personal interview. The candidates will be allowed to appear before the Selection Committee only after verification of all their original documents, testimonials, certificates, etc.
• For the posts of SUP and JA, the Merit List will be prepared on the basis of performance in the Main Examination and qualifying in the Skill Test. Assessment will not be done on the basis of marks in the Skill Test in accordance with O.M No. 39020/01/2013-Estt(B)-Part dated 29.12.2015 notified by Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Govt. of India and Letter F.No.35-4/2016 - TS.III dated 11.12.2019 from the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, (erstwhile Ministry of Human Resource Development), Govt. of India (enclosed). The candidates will be allowed to appear for the Skill Test only after verification of all their original documents, testimonials, certificates, etc.
• The number of candidates to be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (for AR and SASO) and for the Skill Test (for SUP and JA) will be approximately in the ratio of 10 (ten) candidates against 1 (one) post advertised, depending on the marks obtained by the candidates and scoring qualifying marks.
• The result of the Main Examination will be declared on the Institute website as per the tentative schedule given in the Table below.

2. Further detailed instructions regarding Google Classroom platform will be uploaded on a later date.
3. Detailed instructions and requirements for appearing in the Personal Interview OR Skill Test will be uploaded on a later date.
4. Candidates are instructed to check the Institute website / their Gmail inbox regularly for updates.
